Removal

  • Dust or foreign matter on the rain sensor adversely affects its performance. Therefore, protect the sensor surface with the protective cover until the rain sensor is installed on the bracket for accurate function.
  • The connection pad on the rain sensor surface has an adhesive coating with strong adhesion so that the connection pad can stick to the windshield under environmental conditions during use.
  • If it is separated forcibly, it may be damaged. Therefore, be sure to carefully separate the rain sensor from the windshield.
  1. Remove the rain sensor cover (A).
  2. Disconnect the wire harness connector (A).
  3. Be careful not to damage the cover latch by applying excessive force. To release the latch, pull the latch to the side using a small flat-tip screwdriver inserted into the hole (A).
  4. The rain sensor module is attached to the windshield with adhesive. When replacing the windshield, remove the rain sensor module from the existing windshield and install it on the new windshield.

Installation

  • For a windshield with a reflective layer that reflects infrared rays in the detection field, install the rain sensor in the area where the reflective layer has been removed.
  • Install the rain sensor after some time and make sure that no dust settles after installation.
  1. Attach the rain sensor bracket to the windshield using tape.
    • It is very important that the connection pad is pressed fully against the windshield so that it adheres without bubbles.
  2. Connect the rain sensor connector, then install the sensor cover.
