Inspection and Adjustment of Clutch Pedal

1. Measure the clutch pedal height "B" from the floor (from the top of the pedal pad to the inclined floor panel for the driver's foot) and the play "A" at the clutch pedal pin connection (with the cotter pin hole) to the clutch master cylinder pushrod.

Standard value:

(A) 1 - 3 mm (B) 166.9 mm

2. If the clutch pedal height from the floor or the play at the clutch pedal pin connection is not within specification, adjust as follows:

• Loosen the locknut and adjust the height by turning the adjusting bolt. Then secure the bolt by tightening the locknut.

After adjustment, screw in the clutch pedal switch until it contacts the pedal stopper, then tighten the locknut.

• Turn the clutch master cylinder pushrod to adjust the play at the clutch pedal pin connection, then secure the pushrod with the locknut.

Be careful not to push the pushrod into the clutch master cylinder when adjusting the clutch pedal height from the floor or the play at the clutch pedal pin connection.

3. After completing the adjustments, check that the clutch pedal free travel "B" (measured at the top of the pedal pad) and the clearance "C" between the pedal and the floor with the clutch disengaged are within specification.

Standard value:

(B) 6 - 13 mm (C) 50 mm

4. If the pedal free travel or the clearance between the pedal and the floor with the clutch disengaged is outside the specified range, air may be present in the clutch hydraulic system, or the clutch master cylinder or the clutch itself may be faulty. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system, or disassemble and inspect the clutch master cylinder or the clutch.
