Pre-Safe Seat Belt (PSB)

The purpose of the Pre-Safe seat belt is to tighten the seat belt when a collision is anticipated, during emergency braking, or when a loss of vehicle control is detected.
CAUTION
The Pre-Safe seat belt is a supplemental system. The Pre-Safe seat belt operates only when the occupant is wearing the seat belt.
If the seat belt is unbuckled, the seat belt parking function is activated. For more details, refer to Seat Belt Parking Function.

The seat belt warning will turn on if there is a problem with the seat belt.
Have the system checked by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer if:
A warning message appears while the vehicle is in motion. If the PSB warning message disappears, the warning indicator (master symbol) illuminates.
To ensure maximum passenger safety, the Pre-Safe seat belt system operates as shown below.
• Full Retraction
The seat belt is tightened if:
- An emergency braking situation occurs
- Loss of vehicle control
- The vehicle detects a collision by sensor (if equipped)
• Dynamic Support
- Slippery, frozen road
- The occupant leans sideways during sudden braking or sharp cornering.
• Slack Take-Up
Other functions tighten a loosened seat belt when vehicle speed exceeds 15 km/h, and retract a loosened seat belt after the seat belt is unbuckled.
• Parking Belt
When the seat belt is unbuckled, if the seat belt becomes loose, the engine tightens the loose seat belt.
