Description

The seat belt pretensioners (BPT) are installed inside the center pillar (left and right). In a vehicle collision with a certain degree of frontal impact, the seat belt pretensioner helps reduce the force of injury to the front seat occupants by retracting the seat belts. This prevents the front occupants from being thrown forward and striking the steering wheel or instrument panel when the vehicle crashes.
