If the engine stalls at an intersection or a level crossing

- If the engine stalls at an intersection or a level crossing, shift the gear lever to N (Neutral), then push the vehicle to a safe place.

If the vehicle has a manual transmission without a clutch start switch, to push it forward engage 2nd or 3rd gear, then crank the starter motor without pressing the clutch pedal.

If a tire goes flat while driving

If a tire goes flat while driving:

1. Release the accelerator pedal and let the vehicle slow down while steering straight ahead. Do not brake immediately or attempt to leave the road, as you may lose control. When the vehicle has slowed sufficiently, brake carefully and leave the road.

Leave the road as far as possible and park on firm, level ground. If you are on a divided highway, do not park in the area between the two traffic lanes.

2. When the vehicle is stopped, switch on the hazard warning lights, apply the parking brake and place the gear selector in P (automatic transmission) or in reverse (manual transmission).

3. Have all passengers get out of the vehicle.

Make sure they exit on the side away from traffic.

4. When changing a flat tire, follow the instructions provided later in this section.

If the engine stops while driving

1. Gradually reduce speed and keep the vehicle in a straight line. Carefully move off the road to a safe place.

2. Switch on the hazard warning lights.

3. Try to restart the engine. If the vehicle does not start, it is recommended that you consult an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
