Rear Seat Folding

~2min read

The rear seatbacks can be folded down to make it easier to carry long objects or to increase the cargo capacity of the vehicle.

WARNING - Do not allow passengers to sit on the folded seat while the vehicle is moving, as it is not a proper position and seat belts cannot be used. You could suffer serious injury or death in an accident or sudden stop. - Cargo placed on the folded seat must not be higher than the front seats. Otherwise, it could slide forward and cause injury or damage in the event of a sudden stop.

1. Move the front seatback to the upright position and, if necessary, slide the seat forward.

2. Lower the rear head restraints to their lowest position.

3. Insert the rear lap/shoulder belt buckle plate into its holder located on the side trim.

7. Pull the rear seatback folding lever and push the seatback toward the front of the vehicle.

To use the rear seat:

1. Lift and push the seatback up and back until it locks securely in place.

2. Move and push the seat cushion down firmly into the correct position.

When returning the seatbacks to the upright position, place the belts in their proper position.

WARNING: When returning the seatback to the upright position, hold it and slowly slide it into position. Make sure the seatback is securely locked in the upright position by pushing on its upper part. Otherwise, in an accident or sudden stop, the seat could fold forward and allow luggage to enter the passenger compartment, causing serious injury or death. WARNING - Cargo: When folding the rear seatback down, insert the buckle into the recess between the seatback and the cushion. Do not place objects on the rear seats, as they cannot be properly secured and may strike the front seat occupants in a collision. WARNING - Luggage: Make sure the engine is off, the gear shift lever is in P (Park) for automatic transmission or in neutral (N) for manual transmission, and the parking brake is firmly applied whenever unloading or loading cargo.
