Practical Features of Your Vehicle

Hood Closing

~1min read

1. Before closing the hood, check the following:

  • All engine compartment fill caps must be properly tightened.
  • Gloves, rags, or any other flammable material must be removed from the engine compartment.

2. Return the prop rod to its holder so that it does not vibrate.

3. Lower the hood halfway and let it fall. Make sure it is latched correctly.

WARNING

  • Before closing the hood, make sure nothing is obstructing it. Attempting to close the hood when something is in the way may damage the vehicle or cause serious injury.
  • Gloves, rags, or any other flammable material must be removed from the engine compartment, as they may ignite due to engine heat.
  • Always make sure the hood is securely latched before driving. If it is not latched, the hood may open while driving, causing a complete loss of visibility. You may cause an accident.
  • Do not drive the vehicle with the hood open. Visibility will be reduced, and the prop rod may fall out or be damaged.
