Headlight Delay Function

~1min read

If the key is removed from the ignition switch or placed in the ACC or LOCK/OFF position while the headlights are on, the headlights (and/or parking lights) remain on for approximately 5 minutes. However, if you open and then close the driver's door, the headlights (and/or parking lights) turn off after 15 seconds with the engine off.

To turn off the headlights, press the lock button on the remote key (or smart key) twice, or place the headlight switch in the OFF or AUTO position. However, if you move the switch to the AUTO position when it is dark outside, the headlights will not turn on.

NOTICE

If the driver exits the vehicle through a door other than the driver's door, the energy saving function does not operate and the headlight delay function is not canceled automatically. This will discharge the battery. In this case, be sure to turn off the headlights before exiting the vehicle.
