Automatic Defogging System

~1min read

The automatic defog system reduces the possibility of fogging on the inside of the windshield by automatically detecting the humidity inside it.

The automatic defog system operates when the heater or air conditioning is turned on.

This indicator illuminates when the automatic defog system detects moisture inside the windshield and is operating.

If there is a lot of moisture in the vehicle, the following steps are performed in sequence. For example, if the automatic defog system does not clear fog from the windshield in Step 1 (fresh air mode), it still attempts Step 2 (blowing air toward the windshield).

Step 1: Air conditioning operation
Step 2: Fresh air position
Step 3: Blowing air toward the windshield
Step 4: Increase airflow to the windshield
Step 5: Optimize air conditioning

If your vehicle is equipped with an automatic defog system, it activates automatically when the conditions are met. However, if you want to cancel the automatic defog system, press the defrost button four times within two seconds while holding the AUTO button. To use the system again, repeat the procedure described above.

The defrost button indicator will blink three times to indicate that the system has been canceled or set.

If the battery was disconnected or discharged, the automatic defog function returns to its default (enabled) state.

Intelligent

If air conditioning off is selected manually while the automatic defog system indicator is illuminated, the auto defog indicator blinks three times to indicate that the air conditioning off mode cannot be selected.

NOTICE

Do not remove the sensor cover located at the top of the windshield on the driver's side.

System components may be damaged, and such damage is not covered by the warranty.
