Locking

~1min read

Closing:

1. Close all doors, the hood, and the tailgate.

2. Press the button on the door handle, or press the door lock button (1) on the smart key.

3. The hazard warning lights will flash.

4. Make sure the doors are locked by checking the position of the door lock button inside the vehicle.

Intelligent

The button on the door handle can only be used when the smart key is within 0.7 to 1 m (2.3 to 3.3 ft) of the outside handle.

Even if you press the button on the outside door handle, the doors will not lock and the buzzer will sound for 3 seconds in the following situations:

  • The smart key is inside the vehicle.
  • The ENGINE START/STOP button is in the ACC or ON position.
  • One of the doors (other than the tailgate) is open.

WARNING

Never leave smart keys inside the vehicle with children unattended. Unattended children may press the engine START/STOP button or operate the power windows or other controls, or even move the vehicle, which may result in serious injury or death.
