Airbags

~1min read

You can take steps to reduce the risk of injury from an airbag deployment. Sitting too close to the airbag significantly increases the risk of injury if the airbag inflates. Move the seat as far back from the front airbags as possible while still maintaining control of the vehicle.

WARNING

To reduce the risk of serious injury or death from airbag deployment, observe the following precautions:

  • Adjust the driver's seat as far back as possible while still maintaining control of the vehicle.
  • Adjust the front passenger seat as far back as possible.
  • Hold the steering wheel by the rim at the 9 and 3 o'clock positions to minimize the risk of hand and arm injury.
  • NEVER place anything or anyone between yourself and the airbag.
  • Do not allow the front passenger to place feet on the instrument panel to minimize the risk of leg injury.
