Description and Operation

Description

When the pressure inside the coupling exceeds the set pressure value, this valve keeps the pressure below the set value by partially or fully releasing the fluid.

Repair Procedures

Removal

1. 1
   Remove the coupling assembly. (Refer to All-Wheel Drive (AWD) System - Coupling Assembly)
2. 2
   Remove the relief valve (A) from the connecting assembly.

   Tightening torque: 26.5 - 32 N·m

   

   Use the tool (A) that allows an assistant to hold or set the coupling in a vertical position. Be careful not to press the area of the air bleed hole (B).

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Wipe foreign material from the cap tab (A) with a clean cloth before assembly. Inspect the O-ring (B) of the relief valve and apply the specified amount of Loctite 592 to the thread (C). Make sure no foreign material gets inside the relief valve and cap.
