Repair Procedures

Inspection

Hyundai Palisade. Repair procedures
  • Transfer fluid must be checked and refilled every 60,000 km (40,000 miles) / 4 years.
  1. Remove the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")
  2. Loosen the filler plug (A). [Diesel 2.2]

  3. Check the oil level.

    • The oil level should be up to the filler hole. If not, add oil until it begins to flow out of the hole.

  4. Install the filler plug with a new gasket.

    Torque: 39.2 – 59 N·m

  5. Install the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")

* Transfer fluid must be replaced if water has entered the transfer assembly.
  1. Remove the under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")
  2. Drain the transaxle oil after loosening the drain plug (A).

  3. Install the drain plug with a new gasket.

    Torque: 39.2 – 59 N·m

  4. Fill with the specified oil after loosening the filler plug (A). Specified oil: Hypoid gear oil, MS 517-15 GTC 75/85 (GL-5). Capacity: Fill to the lower edge of the filler plug threads. Diesel 2.2: 0.7 L ± 0 L (0.17 US gal, 0.69 US qt, 0.57 Imp qt) ± (0.01 US gal, 0.03 US qt, 0.03 Imp qt). Gasoline 3.5, 3.8: 0.7 L ± 0 L (0.18 US gal, 0.74 US qt, 0.62 Imp qt) ± (0.01 US gal, 0.03 US qt, 0.03 Imp qt). [Diesel 2.2]

  5. Install the filler plug with a new gasket.

    Torque: 39.2 – 59 N·m
