After deployment, the front and side airbags deflate very quickly. Airbag deployment does not prevent the driver from seeing the road or turning the steering wheel. Curtain airbags may remain partially inflated for some time after deployment.

WARNING

After airbag deployment, observe the following precautions:

  • Open the windows and doors as soon as possible after the collision to reduce exposure to smoke and powder residue generated by airbag deployment.
  • Do not touch the internal components of the airbag compartment immediately after airbag deployment. Parts that come into contact with the inflating airbag may become very hot.
  • Flush exposed skin areas with warm water and mild soap.
  • We recommend that you replace the airbag as soon as possible, preferably at an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. Airbags are for single use only.
