Additional Safety Precautions
Passengers must not leave their seats or change seats while the vehicle is moving. A passenger not wearing a seat belt at the moment of impact or sudden braking may be thrown into the cabin against other passengers or be ejected from the vehicle.
Do not use any accessories on the seat belts. Equipment intended to improve passenger comfort or reposition the seat belt may reduce the protection provided and increase the risk of serious injury in an accident.
Do not modify the front seats. Modifying the front seats may interfere with the operation of the supplemental restraint system or the side airbag sensors.
Do not place any objects under the front seats. Objects placed under the front seats may interfere with the supplemental restraint system sensors and wiring.
Avoid striking the doors. A shock to the doors while the ignition is on may cause the airbags to deploy.
Additions or Modifications to a Vehicle Equipped with Airbags
Modifying the chassis, bumpers, front metal body structure, or the side or height of the vehicle may affect the operation of the airbag system.
