Children Always Sit in the Rear

~1min read

WARNING

Always properly secure children in the rear seats of the vehicle, unless the front passenger airbag is turned off.

Children of all ages are best protected when seated in the rear seat.

A child seated in the front passenger seat may be seriously injured or killed by the force of a deploying airbag.

Children under 13 years of age should always be properly secured in the rear seat to reduce the risk of injury in a crash, sudden stop, or sharp maneuver.

According to accident statistics, children are safer in the rear seat than in the front. Children who are too big for a child restraint should use the seat belts provided for their safety.

Most countries have laws requiring children to travel in certified child restraint systems. Laws determining the age or weight required to use seat belts instead of child restraints vary by country. Find out the applicable regulations in your country and in any countries you travel to.

Child restraints must be properly installed in the rear seat. You must use a child restraint approved for sale and compliant with the safety standards of your country.

Child restraints are designed to be secured with the lap portion or the lap/shoulder belt of the three-point seat belt, or with the Top Tether anchorage and/or ISOFIX anchorages, installed on the rear seats of the vehicle.
