Installing a Child Restraint

~1min read

WARNING

Before installing a child restraint:

Read and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

Failure to follow the instructions and warnings may increase the risk of SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH in a crash.

WARNING

If the seat headrest prevents proper installation of the device, it must be adjusted differently or even removed.

After selecting a suitable child restraint and confirming it fits the rear seats of the vehicle, you can install it following the manufacturer's instructions. Installing the child restraint is done in three steps:

• Properly secure the child restraint in the vehicle.

All child restraints must be secured with the lap belt or the lap portion of the three-point seat belt, or with the Top Tether anchorage and/or ISOFIX anchor points.

• Make sure the device is correctly connected.

After installing the device in the vehicle, pull and push the seat forward and sideways to make sure it is securely attached to the seat. A child restraint secured with the seat belt must be fastened as tightly as possible. However, some side movement is possible.

When installing a child restraint, adjust the child seat in the vehicle (vertical and horizontal adjustment) so that your child is comfortably seated.

• Secure the child in the device.

Make sure the child is securely restrained in the device by following the manufacturer's instructions.
