Description and Operation

Setting status

  1. Driving condition: Sensor transmissions occur every minute, and pressure is measured every 15 seconds.
  2. Stationary condition: No sensor transmissions occur, and pressure is measured every 60 seconds.
  3. Self-learning condition: If you drive after stopping for more than 15 minutes, sensor transmissions occur every 33 seconds, and pressure is measured every 10.8 seconds.
  4. Deactivation condition: The TPMS sensor is not activated. Due to the lock condition, pressure, temperature, and battery status are not measured.
  5. Emergency condition: When the pressure changes by 2 psi from the last transmission, tire information is transmitted immediately. Pressure is measured every 2 seconds.

Repair Procedures

REPLACEMENT

  1. Remove the wheel. (Refer to Tires/Wheels — "Tires")
  2. Remove the screw using a Torx screwdriver (A).
  3. Remove the sensor body (A) from the valve (B) in the direction of the arrow.
  4. Remove the valve using the valve assembly tool.
    1. Cut the rubber at the bottom of the valve with a utility knife.
    2. Use the valve installation tool to pull the valve out until it is completely out of the bottom hole.
  5. Apply lubricant to the valve surface, then install it through the wheel valve hole.
  6. Apply soapy water or lubricant to the top/bottom of the tire bead.
  7. To lower the bead, place the TPMS sensor at the 5 o'clock position on the tire changer.
  8. Rotate the rim clockwise, then press the tire toward the 3 o'clock position to lift the lower bead.
  9. To raise the beads higher, press the tire at the 3 o'clock position and rotate the rim clockwise.
  10. Inflate the tire until the beads seat properly.
  11. Adjust the tire pressure to the recommended pressure for the vehicle.
  12. If the TPMS sensor is malfunctioning, perform TPMS sensor registration. Replace the faulty sensors and perform TPMS sensor registration.

ITEM

[Sensor Registration]

  1. Install the GDS (Global Diagnostic System) and the GDS TPMS module into the vehicle.
