ISOFIX Child Restraint Anchor System.

The ISOFIX system secures child restraints while driving and in the event of a collision. This system is designed to simplify installation of the restraint and reduce the risk of incorrect installation. To do this, it uses anchor points located in the vehicle and attachments located on the child restraint.

With the ISOFIX system, it is not necessary to use the seat belts to securely attach the child restraint to the rear seat.

ISOFIX anchor points are metal bars built into the vehicle. Each ISOFIX seat position has two lower anchor points, which allow installation of a child restraint with lower attachments.

To use the ISOFIX system in your vehicle, you must have a child restraint system with ISOFIX attachments. An ISOFIX child restraint may be installed only if it is approved for the vehicle or if it is a universal approval in accordance with the requirements of ECE-R44 or ECE-R129.

Instructions for using the child restraint system and its ISOFIX anchor points are provided by the restraint manufacturer.

ISOFIX anchor points are available on the left and right sides of the rear seat. Their locations are shown in the illustration. There are no ISOFIX anchor points for the rear center seat.

WARNING

Do not attempt to install a child restraint in the rear center seat using ISOFIX anchor points. There are no ISOFIX anchor points provided for this position. If you use the external seat anchor points to install a child restraint in the rear center seat, you risk damaging them.

Symbols indicating the positions of the ISOFIX anchor points are located on the backrests of the left and right rear seats and identify the position of the ISOFIX anchor points in your vehicle (see arrows in the illustration).

The two outboard rear seats are equipped with two ISOFIX anchor points and a corresponding top tether anchorage located on the backrests of the seats.

(Child restraint systems with universal approval in accordance with ECE-R44 or ECE-R129 must also be secured with the top tether attached to the rear seat backrest.)

The ISOFIX anchor points are located between the seatback and seat cushion on the rear left and right seats.

To use them, press the upper part of the cover of the corresponding anchorage point.
