Windshield Washer Motor Repair Procedures

Inspection

   When the washer motor is connected to the reservoir, fill the washer reservoir with water.

   Connect the positive (+) battery cable to terminal 1, and the negative (-) battery cable to terminal 2.

   Make sure the motor operates correctly and that the washer motor works and water flows from the front nozzles.

   If the windshield washer motor is noticed to operate abnormally, replace it. [Front and Rear Washers]

   1	Windshield washer (+)
   2	Ground
   3	Rear Washer (+)

   Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

   Drain the washer fluid so that the level is less than 650 cc.
7. 7
   Check the continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2 at each float position. There must be continuity when the float is lowered and no continuity when the float is raised.

   If the continuity does not meet the specification, replace the washer fluid level switch.

   If the continuity does not meet the specification, replace the washer fluid level switch.

DEPOSIT

1. 1
   Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.

   Remove the right front wheel guard. (Refer to Body - Front Fender)

   Remove the engine room under cover (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")
4. 4
   Remove the hose (B) and disconnect the washer motor connector (B).

   Remove the windshield washer reservoir by removing the mounting bolts (B).

   Remove the washer motor (B) after removing the hook (A).

   

REMEDY

1. 1
   Install the windshield washer reservoir.
2. 2
   Install the washer motor.
3. 3
   Install the washer hose.
4. 4
   Connect the washer motor connector.
5. 5
   Install the wheel guide bracket and cover. (Refer to Body - "Front Fender")
6. 6
   Install the engine room under cover. (Refer to Engine Mechanical System - "Engine Room Under Cover")
7. 7
   Check the operation of the washer motor.
