Components and Component Location

COMPONENTS

1. Stop Lamp Switch
2. Nut
3. Return Spring		 4. Brake Pedal Crossmember Assembly
5. Bolt
6. Brake Pedal Arm

Repair Procedures

DEPOSIT

  1. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  2. Remove the lower airbag panel. (Refer to Body - "Lower Instrument Panel")
  3. Disconnect the brake light switch connector (A).
  4. Remove the brake pedal mounting bolt (A).

    Tightening torque: 16.7 ~ 26 N·m N·m

  5. Remove the safety clip (A) and cotter pin (B).
  6. Remove the clip attached to the cable from the brake pedal element support.

Inspection

  1. Check the bushing for wear.
  2. Make sure the brake pedal is not bent or deformed.
  3. Make sure the brake pedal return spring is not damaged.
