Warning and Indicator Lights
Information
Make sure all warning lights turn off after starting the engine. If any light remains on, it indicates a condition that requires attention.
Seat Belt Reminder Light

This indicator light informs the driver that the seat belt is not fastened.
Airbag Warning Light

This indicator light illuminates:
- When the ignition switch or Engine Start/Stop button is turned to the ON position.
- Illuminates for approximately 3~6 seconds, then turns off. - When there is a malfunction in the SRS.
If the airbag warning light remains on while driving, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Parking brake warning light

This indicator light illuminates:
- When the ignition switch or Engine Start/Stop button is turned to the ON position.
- The parking brake and brake fluid warning light illuminates for approximately 3 seconds, then turns off once the parking brake is released. - Whenever the parking brake is applied.
- Whenever the brake fluid level in the reservoir is low.
- If the warning light illuminates with the parking brake released, it indicates that the brake fluid level in the reservoir is low.
If the brake fluid level in the reservoir is low:
1. Drive carefully to the nearest safe location and stop the vehicle.
2. With the engine off, check the brake fluid level immediately and add fluid as necessary (refer to the "Brake Fluid" section in Chapter 9 for details). After adding brake fluid, inspect all brake system components for fluid leaks. If a brake fluid leak is detected, or if the warning light remains on, or if the brakes do not operate properly, do not drive the vehicle. Have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Dual Diagonal Brake System
Your vehicle is equipped with a dual diagonal brake system. This means that you still have braking on two wheels even if one of the dual systems should fail.
With only one of the dual systems operating, the brake pedal travels farther than normal and more force is required on the pedal to stop the vehicle.
Also, the vehicle will not stop in a short distance when only part of the brake system is operating.
If you experience a brake system malfunction while driving, try to slow down your vehicle by coasting or using engine braking. You may be able to reduce vehicle speed by manually shifting to a lower gear. Use manual shift mode by using either the gear shift lever or the paddle shifters (if equipped) to downshift.
WARNING
Parking Brake and Brake Fluid Warning Light
Driving the vehicle with the warning light ON is dangerous. If the parking brake warning light comes on while the parking brake is released, it means the brake fluid level is low.
In this case, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Warning Light

This indicator light illuminates:
- When the ignition switch or Engine Start/Stop button is set to ON.
- The ABS warning light illuminates for approximately 3 seconds, then goes off. - Whenever a malfunction occurs in the ABS.
Note that the hydraulic brake system will operate even if there is a malfunction in the ABS. If the ABS warning light remains on while driving, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) System Warning Light

When the ABS warning light and parking brake warning light illuminate at the same time, this may indicate a problem with the Electronic Brake force Distribution system.
If both the ABS warning light and the parking brake warning light remain on while driving, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
WARNING
Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) System Warning Light: When both the ABS and parking brake warning lights are on, the brake system may not operate normally, and you may experience an unexpected and dangerous situation during sudden braking.
In this case, avoid driving at high speed and sudden braking.
Have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer as soon as possible.

If the warning light remains on after adding oil, or if there is no oil, have the vehicle inspected by an authorized HYUNDAI dealer. (Continuing to drive with the warning light on may cause engine failure.)
Information
When engine oil pressure drops due to insufficient engine oil, etc., the engine oil pressure warning light will illuminate. In addition, the Engine Fail-Safe system, which limits engine output, will be activated. If engine oil pressure is restored, the engine oil pressure warning light and the Engine Fail-Safe system will turn off. However, for the 2.5 GDI gasoline engine and 2.5 turbo engine, when engine oil pressure is restored, the warning light and Engine Fail-Safe system will turn off after the engine is restarted.
NOTICE
- If the engine is not stopped immediately after the engine oil pressure warning light illuminates, serious engine damage may result.
- If the warning light remains on while the engine is running, this indicates possible serious engine damage or malfunction. In this case:
