Lighting Control

To operate the lights, turn the knob on the end of the lever to one of the following positions:

1. OFF
2. AUTO light
3. Parking lights
4. Headlights

Daytime Running Lamps (DRL)

Daytime Running Lights (DRL) help make your vehicle more visible to others in front of you during the day, especially after dawn and before sunset.

The DRL system will turn off the special light when:

  • Headlamps on.
  • Parking brake is applied.
  • The vehicle is turned off.

AUTO light

The parking lights and headlights turn on or off automatically depending on the amount of daylight measured by the daylight sensor (1) at the upper edge of the windshield.

Even when the AUTO light function is active, it is recommended to turn the headlights on manually when driving at night or in fog, when driving in rain, or when entering dark areas such as tunnels and parking garages.

NOTICE

  • Do not cover or spill anything on the sensor (1) located at the upper edge of the windshield.
  • Do not clean the sensor with glass cleaner. The cleaner may leave a light film that can interfere with sensor operation.
  • If your vehicle has tinted glass or other metallic coatings on the front windshield, the automatic headlight system may not operate correctly.

Parking light ( )

Parking lights, license plate light, and instrument panel light are on.

Headlight ( )

Headlights, parking lights, license plate light, and instrument panel light are on.

Information

The ignition switch must be in the ON position to turn on the headlights.

High Beam

To turn on the high beam headlights, push the lever away from you. The lever will return to its original position.

The high beam indicator illuminates when the high beams are turned on.

To turn off the high beam headlights, pull the lever toward you. The low beam headlights will turn on.

To turn on the high beams, pull the lever toward you, then release the lever. The high beams will remain on as long as you hold the lever toward you.

Turn Signals and Lane Change Signals

To signal a turn, push the lever down for a left turn or up for a right turn to position (A).

If the indicator continues to illuminate without flashing, or flashes abnormally, one of the turn signal bulbs may have burned out and need to be replaced.

One Touch Turn Signal

To use the one-touch turn signal, move the turn signal lever up or down to position (B), then release it.

The lane change signals will flash 3, 5, or 7 times.

You can enable the One Touch Turn Signal function or select the number of flashes by selecting "Settings" -> "User Settings" -> "Lights" -> "One Touch Turn Signal" -> "Off/3 flashes/5 flashes/7 flashes" on the instrument panel LCD.

Battery Saver Feature

This function is designed to prevent battery discharge. The system automatically turns off the parking lights when the driver turns off the vehicle and opens the driver's door.

With this function, the parking lights automatically turn off if the driver parks on the side of the road at night.

However, the parking lights remain on even when the driver's door is open if the headlight switch is turned to the parking light or AUTO (if equipped) position after the engine is turned off.

If you want the lights to remain on, turn the parking lights off and on again using the headlight switch on the steering column after the engine is turned off.

Headlight Delay Function

If the ignition switch is set to the ACC or OFF position with the headlights on, the headlights (and/or parking lights) remain on for approximately 5 minutes. However, if the driver's door is opened and closed, the headlights turn off after 15 seconds. Also, when the vehicle is off, if the driver's door is opened and closed, the headlights (and/or parking lights) turn off after 15 seconds.

The headlights (and/or parking lights) can be turned off by pressing the lock button on the remote key or Smart Key twice, or by turning the headlight switch to the OFF or AUTO position.

You can enable the headlight delay function by selecting "Settings" -> "User Settings" -> "Lights" -> "Headlight Delay".

NOTICE

If the driver exits the vehicle through a door other than the driver's door, the battery saver function does not operate, and the headlight delay function does not turn off automatically.

This may cause the battery to discharge. To prevent battery discharge, turn off the headlights manually using the headlight switch before leaving the vehicle.

Traffic Change

The low beam light distribution is asymmetrical. If you drive to a country with opposite-side traffic, this asymmetrical design will dazzle drivers of oncoming vehicles.

To prevent glare, ECE regulations require several technical solutions (for example, an automatic adjustment system or a downward-directed sticker). These headlights are not designed to dazzle oncoming drivers.

You can enable or disable the traffic change mode feature on the LCD display in the user settings. Go to "Lights -> Travel Mode".
