Inspection

In the IGN1 ON state, when the multifunction switch module detects that auto light is on, the rear lamp relay output and the low beam headlamp relay output are controlled according to the input signal from the auto light sensor. Automatic light control does not operate if the sunlight sensor power supply pin (5 V regulated power supply from IGN1 to the sunlight sensor) is shorted to ground. If IGN1 is on, the IPM monitors the range of this power supply and triggers a failure as soon as the supply voltage goes outside the permissible limits. This failure is then set, and while it is present the headlamps must be turned on regardless of the sunlight level detected by the sensor. This is done to prevent the headlamps from turning off at night in case of a failure.
