Inspection
Radiator Cap Inspection- Remove the radiator cap, wet its seal with engine coolant, then install it on the pressure tester.

- Apply pressure of 93.16–122.58 kPa (0.95–1.25 kgf/cm², 13.51–17.78 psi).
- Check for pressure drop.
- If the pressure drops, replace the radiator cap.
- Wait until the engine cools down, then carefully remove the radiator cap and fill the radiator with engine coolant, then install it on the pressure tester.

- Connect the tester to the radiator and apply pressure of 93.16–122.58 kPa (0.95–1.25 kgf/cm², 13.51–17.78 psi).
- Check for engine coolant leaks and pressure drop.
- Remove the tester and install the radiator cap.
Check for engine oil in the coolant and/or coolant in the engine oil.
Removal and Installation
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the air cleaner assembly. (Refer to Intake and Exhaust Systems in this group)
- Remove the lower cover (A).
Torque: 19.6 ~ 24 N·m

- Loosen the drain plug (A) and drain the coolant. Remove the radiator cap to speed up draining.

Never remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot. Serious scalding may be caused by hot, pressurized fluid escaping from the radiator.
- Remove the radiator upper hose (A).

- Remove the lower radiator hose (A).

- Disconnect the cooling fan motor connector (A) and remove the cooling fan assembly.
Tightening torque: 8.8 - 10.8 N·m

- Remove the front bumper. (Refer to Body - "Front Bumper")
- Disconnect the overflow hose (A) from the radiator.

- Remove the cover (A) and air deflector (B), then separate the condenser from the radiator.

- Remove the radiator mounting bracket (A) and remove the upper part of the radiator from the vehicle.
Tightening torque: 8.8 - 10.8 N·m

- Installation is the reverse of removal.
- Fill the radiator with coolant and check for leaks.

- Bleed air from the cooling system.
- Start the engine and let it run until it warms up (until the radiator fan has cycled 3 or 4 times).
- Turn off the engine and allow it to cool. Check the coolant level and add coolant if necessary. This will remove trapped air from the cooling system.
- Tightly close the radiator cap, then restart the engine and check for leaks.
