WARNING
- Always wear suitable footwear when driving your vehicle. Unsuitable footwear, such as high heels, ski boots, sandals or flip-flops, may interfere with your ability to operate the brake, accelerator and clutch pedals. Do not drive barefoot.
- Do not start the vehicle with the accelerator pedal depressed. Keep your foot firmly on the brake pedal when starting the vehicle.
- Wait until the engine reaches normal idle speed before shifting gears and releasing the brake. Your vehicle may move suddenly if it is shifted at high engine speed. This may cause damage to the transmission system.
1. Make sure the parking brake is applied.
2. Make sure the shift lever/button is in the P (Park) position.
3. Depress the brake pedal.
4. Turn the ignition key to the START position. Hold the key (maximum 10 seconds) until the engine starts, then release the key.
Information
- Do not wait for the engine to warm up or start the engine while the vehicle is stationary.
- Start moving at a moderate engine speed. Do not accelerate rapidly or decelerate while driving.
NOTICE
To avoid damage to the vehicle:
- Do not hold the ignition key in the START position for more than 10 seconds. Wait 5-10 seconds before trying again.
- Do not turn the ignition key to the START position while the engine is running. This may damage the starter.
- If the engine stalls while the vehicle is moving, shift to N (Neutral) and use the ignition key to try to restart the engine.
- Do not push or tow the vehicle to start the engine.
