IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
Four-Wheel Drive Models
In this manual: IN CASE OF EMERGENCY
~1min read
FCA US LLC recommends towing with all four wheels off the ground. Acceptable towing methods are on a flatbed or with one end of the vehicle lifted and the opposite end on a tow dolly.
If flatbed equipment is not available and the transfer case is operational, the vehicle may be towed forward with ALL wheels on the ground, IF the transfer case is in NEUTRAL (N) and the transmission is in PARK (P) (for automatic transmission) or in NEUTRAL (for manual transmission).
- Do not use front or rear wheel lifts (if the other wheels are on the ground). Internal transmission or transfer case damage will occur if a front or rear wheel lift is used during towing.
- Towing this vehicle in violation of the above requirements may cause serious transmission and/or transfer case damage. Damage caused by improper towing is not covered by the New Vehicle Limited Warranty.
