Brake fluid
Brake Fluid Level Inspection

Check the brake fluid reservoir level periodically. The fluid level should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the side of the reservoir. Before removing the reservoir cap and adding brake fluid, thoroughly clean the area around the reservoir cap to prevent brake fluid contamination.
CAUTION - Brake fluid selection
Use only brake fluid in the brake system. Small amounts of unsuitable fluids (such as engine oil) may cause damage to the brake system.
If the level is low, add fluid up to the MAX level. The level will drop as mileage accumulates. This is normal and is related to brake pad wear. If the fluid level is too low, have the brake system inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Use only the specified brake fluid. (Refer to "Recommended Fuel, Lubricants and Capacities" in chapter 8.)
Never mix different types of fluid.
If the brake system requires frequent fluid additions, the vehicle should be inspected by an authorized Kia dealer.
Handle brake fluid carefully when replacing or adding it. Do not allow it to contact your eyes. If brake fluid contacts your eyes, immediately flush them with plenty of fresh running water. Have your eyes examined by a doctor as soon as possible.
CAUTION - Brake fluid
Do not allow brake fluid to contact the vehicle body paint, as it will damage the paint.
Brake fluid that has been exposed to open air for a long period should never be used, as its quality cannot be guaranteed. It must be disposed of properly.
CAUTION
To maintain the performance of your vehicle's brakes and ABS/ESC, use only genuine Kia brake fluid meeting the specification. (Classification: SAE J1704 DOT-4 LV, ISO 4925 CLASS-6, FMVSS 116 DOT-4)
