Lap/Shoulder Belt
Height Adjustment

You can adjust the shoulder belt anchor height to one of 4 positions for maximum comfort and safety.
The shoulder belt height adjustment should not be too close to your neck. You will not get maximum protection efficiency. The shoulder portion should be adjusted so that it lies across your chest and midway over your shoulder, not against your neck.
To adjust the seat belt anchor height, lower or raise the height adjuster to the appropriate position.
To raise the height adjuster, pull it up (1). To lower it, press the height adjustment button (2) and push it down (3).
Release the button to lock the anchor in the desired position. Try to move the height adjuster to make sure it has locked in position.
Improperly worn seat belts may result in serious injury in an accident.
WARNING - Shoulder Belt Position
Never place the shoulder belt under the arm or behind the back.
WARNING - Seat Belt Replacement
Replace the seat belts after being in an accident. Failure to replace the seat belts after an accident may leave you with damaged seat belts that will not provide protection in the event of another collision.

To fasten the seat belt:
To fasten the seat belt, pull it out of the retractor and insert the metal tongue (1) into the buckle (2). An audible "click" will be heard when the tongue locks into the buckle.
The seat belt automatically adjusts to the correct length only after the lap portion is manually adjusted so that it fits snugly over the hips. If you lean forward slowly and gently, the belt will extend and allow you to move. If the vehicle suddenly stops or impacts, however, the belt will lock in position. It will also lock if you try to lean forward too quickly.
✽ NOTICE
If you cannot pull the seat belt out of the retractor, firmly pull the belt and release it. Then the belt can be pulled out smoothly.

WARNING
Position the lap portion of the belt as low and as tight as possible across the hips, not across your waist. If the lap belt is positioned too high on the waist, the likelihood of injury in a collision may increase. Both hands should not be placed below or above the belt. Rather, one should be above and the other below, as shown in the illustration.
Never fasten the seat belt under your arm near the door.

To unfasten the seat belt:
The seat belt is released by pressing the release button (A) on the buckle. When released, the belt should retract automatically into the retractor.
If this does not happen, check the belt to make sure it is not twisted, then try again.

When using the rear center seat belt, the buckle marked "CENTER" must be used.
✽ NOTICE
If you cannot pull the seat belt out of the retractor, firmly pull the belt and release it. After release, you will be able to pull the belt out smoothly.
