Inspection
Resistance Measurement- Disconnect the cruise control switch connector from the control switch.
- Measure the resistance between the terminals of the control switch when each function switch is in the ON position (switch pressed).
Function Switch Terminal Resistance CANCEL 2 - 7 180? ± 5% SET/- 2 - 7 330? ± 5% RES/+ 2 - 7 550? ± 5% ON/OFF 2 - 7 880? ± 5% - If not within specification, replace the switch.
- Connect the cruise control switch connector to the control switch.
- With the ignition ON, measure the voltage between the terminals of the harness-side connector when each function switch is in the ON position (switch depressed).
Function Switch Terminal Voltage CANCEL 2 - 7 0.67 ~ 0.86 V SET/- 2 - 7 1.10 ~ 1.39 V RES/+ 2 - 7 1.59 ~ 1.97 V ON/OFF 2 - 7 2.13 ~ 2.56 V - If not within specification, inspect the control switch resistance. If the measured resistance is not within specification, replace the switch and measure the voltage again.
- If the resistance is normal but the measured voltage is not within specification, inspect the harness and connectors between the switch and the instrument cluster.
