Inspection

Check this by performing the procedure below to confirm that the ECM operates normally.
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position.
  2. Cover the front sensor to disable it.
  3. Shine a flashlight on the rear sensor.
  4. The ECM should dim as soon as the rear sensor detects light.
    If this test is performed during daytime, the ECM may dim as soon as the front sensor is covered.
  5. When the reverse gear is engaged, the ECM should not dim.
  6. When both the front and rear sensors are illuminated, the ECM should not dim.

Removal

  1. Remove the mirror wiring cover (A).
  2. Disconnect the mirror connector (B) and remove the mounting screw (A).
  3. Slide the inside rearview mirror backward to remove the inside rearview mirror assembly (A).
    Use care during removal to avoid damaging the mounting bracket.

Installation

  1. Install the mirror assembly.
  2. Install the mirror wiring cover and connector.
    • Make sure the connector is properly connected.
