TPMS Sensor Installation

Install the valve stem onto the sensor. Make sure the square portion of the valve fits into the sensor.

Install the assembly on the wheel.

Tighten the washer and nut by hand until the valve threads engage the built-in calibrated locking nut.

Using a torque wrench, tighten the nut to 5.9 ± 0.7 lb-ft (8.0 ± 1 N·m). It is normal to feel a break, as the calibrated 1.7 lb-ft (2.3 N·m) stop in the nut engages and the torque drops.

Apply lubricant to the tire bead, not the rim. Excessive lubricant must not be applied.

Start mounting the tire approx. 5.9 in (15 cm) from the valve.

Move the mounting tool away from the valve.

Finish with the mounting tool near the valve.

Inflate / correct the pressure, then install the valve cap. Record the sensor ID (wireless communication).
