Replacement of Components After Deployment

Before performing any SRS repair, use GDS to check DTCs. Refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code list to repair the corresponding trouble codes.
If the front airbags deployed after a collision, replace the following parts.
  • SRSCM
  • Deployed airbag(s)
  • Seat belt pretensioner(s)
  • Emergency Fastening Device
  • Front impact sensors
  • SRS wiring harnesses
  • Inspect the clock spring for heat damage. If any damage is found, replace the clock spring.
If the side/curtain airbags deployed after a collision, replace the following items.
  • SRSCM
  • Deployed airbag(s)
  • Side impact sensor(s) on deployed side(s)
  • SRS wiring harnesses
After repairs are complete, make sure the SRS airbag system functions properly.
  • When the ignition switch is turned ON, the SRS indicator should illuminate for approximately 6 seconds before turning off.
