Driver's Position Memory System

~3min read

The driver position memory system is a feature that allows the driver's seat, leg extension, steering wheel, outside mirrors, instrument cluster, and head-up display (HUD) to be controlled by a simple button operation, allowing the driver to recall and automatically return to the stored driving positions.

- Driver's seat/leg extension/steering wheel/outside mirrors: position
- Cluster: illumination brightness
- Head-up display (HUD): height, rotation, and brightness.

WARNING! Driver Position Memory System

Never attempt to operate the driver position memory system while the vehicle is moving. This may result in loss of vehicle control, which could cause a fatal accident or serious injury.

Storing Positions in Memory Using the Door Buttons

Storing Driver Seat Positions

1. Press the PARK button when the engine start/stop button is in the ON position.

2. Adjust the driver's seat, including the leg extension (if equipped), outside rearview mirrors, and head-up display so they are comfortable for the driver.

3. Press the SET button on the control panel. The system will sound one beep.

4. Within 4 seconds of pressing the SET button, press one of the memory buttons (1 or 2). The system will sound two beeps when the position has been successfully stored.

When recalling a memory setting while seated in the vehicle, you may notice the selected setting has changed if someone else has adjusted the memory. In this case, immediately press the seat position control switch in the direction of the desired position to stop further unintended movement.

Recalling Memory Positions

1. Press the PARK button when the engine start/stop button is in the ON position.

2. To recall a stored position, press the desired memory button (1 or 2). The system will sound one beep, and then the driver's seat will automatically adjust to the stored position.

Operating the driver's seat control switch while the system is recalling a stored position will stop the movement and move the seat in the direction the control switch is moved.

Easy Access Function

When exiting the vehicle, the steering wheel moves away from the driver and the seat moves rearward when the engine is turned off.

When entering the vehicle, the steering wheel moves toward the driver and the seat moves forward when the engine start/stop button is pressed to the ACC or START position.

You can activate or deactivate this function. Refer to "User Settings" in Chapter 4.

Resetting the Driver Position Memory System

If resetting the driver position memory system does not work, initialize the system as follows.

How to initialize:

1. Stop the vehicle and open the driver's door. Set the engine start/stop button to the ON position, and shift the automatic transmission lever to P (Park).

2. Pull the driver's seat forward as far as possible, and hold the seatback upright as far as possible using the driver's seat forward/backward and seatback angle (reclining) control switches.

3. Press and hold the SET button and the driver's seat forward control switch at the same time for 2 seconds.

CAUTION

  • If the beep sounds and the driver's seat stops moving during initialization, restart the initialization process.
  • Before proceeding, make sure there are no obstacles around the driver's seat when initializing.
  • After initialization is complete, adjust the seat to your preferred driving position and store your personal seat settings.

Initialization in progress:

1. Initialization starts when the alarm sounds.

2. The seat cushion and seatback will automatically move rearward. The alarm will continue to sound while the system is operating.

3. Initialization will be completed after the seat cushion and seatback move to the center position, with the alarm sounding. However, if one of the following occurs, the initialization process will stop and the alarm will also stop.
- When the driver's seat memory system button is pressed
- When the driver's seat height adjustment switch is pressed
- When the shift lever is moved from the P position to another position
- When the vehicle speed exceeds 3 km/h
- When the driver's door is closed
