1. Prüfen Sie vor dem Schließen der Motorhaube folgende Punkte:
- Make sure all filler caps in the engine compartment are properly closed.
- Remove gloves, rags, and other flammable items from the engine compartment.
2. Return the support rod to its holder to prevent rattling noises.
3. Lower the hood until it is about 30 cm (12 in) above the closed position, then let it drop. Make sure it latches.
4. Make sure the hood is securely closed. If the hood can be lifted easily, it is not properly latched. Open it again and close it with a little more force.
WARNING
- Before closing the hood, make sure no objects are in the hood's path. If objects are in the area when closing the hood, serious personal injury or property damage may result.
- Do not leave flammable items such as rags and gloves in the engine compartment. Such items could catch fire from engine heat.
WARNING
- Always make sure the hood is fully closed before driving. If the hood is not latched, it could fly up while driving, completely block your view, and cause an accident.
- The support rod must be fully inserted into the corresponding hole in the hood when you perform work in the engine compartment. This prevents the hood from falling and injuring you.
- Do not drive the vehicle with the hood open. Visibility is blocked, and the hood may fall off or be damaged.
