Defrosting and defogging the windshield

Do not use the or modes when the vehicle interior is very humid. The temperature difference between the outside air and the windshield may cause the outside of the windshield to fog up and impair visibility. In this case, set the mode selector to and use the blower speed button to select a lower speed.

• To achieve maximum defrosting effect, turn the temperature control to the far right (highest) position and set the blower speed to the highest setting.
• If you want to defrost or defog the windshield while also directing warm air to the footwell, select the "Floor & defrost" ventilation mode.
• Before driving, remove ice and snow from the windshield, rear window, outside mirrors, and all side windows.
• Also remove ice and snow from the hood and the air intake opening in front of the windshield to improve heater and defroster performance and reduce the likelihood of the windshield fogging up from the inside.
