Front wipers

Bei eingeschalteter Zündung stehen folgende Funktionen zur Verfügung.

1. 2: Wischgeschwindigkeit schnell

2. 1: Normal wiping speed

3. ---: Intermittent wiping with the same wiping interval. Use this function in light rain or fog. To change the wiping speed, turn the speed control.

4. O: Scheibenwischer ist ausgeschaltet.

5. : For a single wiping cycle, move the lever to this position and release it. The wipers operate continuously as long as the lever is held in this position.

WARNING

If the windshield is heavily iced or covered with snow, defrost the windshield for approx. 10 minutes or until the snow and/or ice has melted before using the wipers. If snow or ice is not removed before using the wiper and washer system, the wiper and washer system may be damaged.

Automatische Steuerung AUTO (ausstattungsabhängig)

The rain sensor located at the upper edge of the windshield detects the amount of precipitation and controls the wiping cycles accordingly. As precipitation increases, the wipers speed up. When precipitation stops, the wipers stop. To change the wiping speed, turn the adjusting ring (1).

When the wiper switch is in the AUTO position and the ignition is on, the wipers will wipe once to perform a system self-check. Turn the wiper switch to the OFF position when the wipers are not needed.

WARNING

When the wiper switch is in the AUTO position with the ignition on, observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury to the hands and other body parts:

• Do not touch the windshield at the upper area near the rain sensor from outside.
• Wischen Sie nicht mit einem feuchten oder nassen Tuch über den oberen Rand der Windschutzscheibe.
• Üben Sie keinen Druck auf die Windschutzscheibe aus.

WARNING

Before washing the vehicle, turn the wiper switch to the OFF position to deactivate the automatic wiper control.

If the wiper switch is in the AUTO position during vehicle washing, the wipers may activate and become damaged.

Do not remove the sensor cover at the upper edge of the windshield on the passenger side. System malfunctions may occur that are not covered by the vehicle warranty. When starting the engine in winter, set the wiper switch to the OFF position. Otherwise, the wipers may switch on and ice may damage the wiper blades. Always remove snow and ice and thoroughly defrost the windshield before operating the washer.
