Repair Procedures

Inspection

Check that the travel is within specification when the parking brake lever is pulled with a force of 44 lbf, 196 N (20 kgf). Also, parking on the brake alone must hold the vehicle securely on a fairly steep slope. If the travel is more or less than specified, have the parking brake adjusted by an authorized Kia dealer.
