Securing the Child Seat Using the Tether Anchor System

■ 4-door

■ 5-Door
Child restraint tether anchors are located on the package tray (4-door) or on the floor behind the rear seat (5-door).

This symbol indicates the location of the tether anchorage.

1. Pass the child seat belt through the seatback.
On vehicles with adjustable head restraints, route the seat belt under the head restraint (remove the head restraint and reinstall it) and between the head restraint posts; otherwise, pass the strap over the top of the seatback.
2. Attach the tether strap hook to the corresponding child restraint tether anchor hook and tighten to secure the child seat.
WARNING! Seat Belt
Never install more than one child restraint on one tether or one lower anchor. The increased load caused by multiple seats may cause the tethers or anchor points to break.
Make sure the child restraint is secured by pressing and pulling it in different directions. Improperly installed child restraints may swing, twist, or tip over, which may result in death or serious injury.
