MASTER CYLINDER
REMOVAL
In the engine compartment
- Without opening the circuit, set the washer fluid reservoir aside.
- Drain the brake fluid reservoir using a clean syringe.
- Disconnect hose (1) from the brake fluid reservoir (illustration shown without brake booster for better visibility) (Fig.2).

Fig. 2
- Release clip (2) without removing it.
- Disconnect pipe (3) from the master cylinder (4).
In the passenger compartment
- Remove pin (5) from the clutch pedal (Fig.3).

Fig. 3
- Turn the master cylinder anticlockwise and release it from its guide in the pedal bracket (6).
- In the engine compartment, remove the master cylinder (4).
INSTALLATION
To refit, reverse the removal procedure, observing the following points:
- Check the seal of hose (1) and replace it if necessary.
- Check pin (5) and replace it if necessary.
- Refill with the specified fluid and bleed the brake and clutch control circuits.
- Check that the clutch operates correctly and that the system is leak-free.
CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER
REMOVAL
- Remove the gearbox.
- Remove the screws (1) (Fig.4).
- Loosen, then pull the hose (2) out of the sleeve (3).
- Remove the hydraulic slave cylinder (4) with the hose (2).
INSTALLATION
To refit, reverse the removal procedure, observing the following points:
- Check the slave cylinder and replace it if necessary.
- Refill with the specified fluid and bleed the brake and clutch control circuits.

HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT
BLEEDING THE CIRCUIT
Handle brake fluid with care, as it is highly corrosive. If it contacts the bodywork, clean it off as soon as possible.Use only new, non-emulsified brake fluid.
Prevent any contamination of the hydraulic circuit.
- Remove the engine undershield.
- Connect a bleeding device to the brake fluid reservoir.
Follow the instructions in the bleeding equipment manual.- Remove the cap (1) (Fig.5) from the clutch housing.

Fig. 5
- Open the bleed screw (2) on the clutch slave cylinder.
Provide a means of catching and collecting the fluid, which is highly corrosive.- Let the fluid flow out.
- Close the bleed screw when the fluid flows clean and free of air bubbles.
- Check that the clutch operates correctly.
- Remove the bleeding device.
- Refit all the covers that were removed.
- Check the brake fluid level and top up if necessary.
