Driving characteristics and towing tips

~1min read

Before coupling a trailer, grease the tow ball. However, do not grease it if a stabiliser acting on the ball is used to reduce yawing movements.

For trailers with poor road holding and trailers with a maximum permitted gross weight above 1400 kg, the use of a stabiliser is strongly recommended at speeds above 80 km/h.

If the trailer begins to sway, slow down, do not steer against the sway, and brake firmly if necessary.

On downhill gradients, engage the same gear as for climbing the hill and drive at approximately the same speed.

Set the tyre pressure to the full-load value, 283.
