The airbag system consists of a series of individual systems, depending on the equipment fitted.

Once triggered, the airbags inflate within a few milliseconds.

They deflate so quickly that this often goes unnoticed during a collision.

Caution

If handled incorrectly, the airbag systems can trigger and explode.

Note

The center console area contains the control electronics for the airbag and seat belt pretensioner systems. Do not store any magnetic objects in this area.

Do not attach stickers to the airbag covers and do not cover them with other materials.

Each airbag can only deploy once. Have deployed airbags replaced by a workshop. In addition, it may be necessary to have the steering wheel, instrument panel, trim components, door seals, handles and seats replaced.

Do not modify the airbag system, as this would invalidate the vehicle's type approval.

When the airbags deploy, hot gases may escape and cause burns.
