The side airbag system consists of one airbag in each of the front seat backrests and in the backrests of the outer rear seats.

They are identified by the AIRBAG label.

The side airbag system deploys in a side collision of a certain severity. The ignition must be switched on.

The inflated airbags cushion the impact, thereby significantly reducing the risk of injury to the torso and pelvis in a side collision.

Caution

Do not place any part of the body or any object in the airbag deployment area.

Note

Only use seat covers that are approved for the vehicle. Do not cover the airbags.
