Practical information

Connecting the leads

~1min read
  • Position the open ring 1 of the cable on the battery (+) terminal.
  • Press ring 1 vertically to seat it on the battery terminal.
  • Lock the ring by pivoting the locating lug, then lowering lever 2 .
Do not force the lever: locking is not possible if the ring is incorrectly positioned; repeat the procedure. Batteries contain hazardous substances such as sulphuric acid and lead. They must be disposed of in accordance with legal requirements; never dispose of them with household waste.

Used batteries and accumulators must be taken to a collection point for this type of waste.

If the vehicle is parked for longer than one month, it is recommended to disconnect the battery. Do not charge the battery without first disconnecting both terminals. Do not remove the terminals while the engine is running.

Before disconnecting the battery

Before disconnecting the battery, wait 2 minutes after switching off the ignition.

Before disconnecting the battery, close the windows and doors.

After connecting the battery

After reconnecting the battery, switch on the ignition and wait 1 minute before operating the starter to initialise the electronic systems. If any problems occur, contact a PEUGEOT NETWORK dealer or a qualified specialist workshop.

Refer to the information in the relevant chapters and carry out the initialisation yourself for:

  • the key with remote control,
  • electric sequential window lifts,
  • the on-board GPS navigation system.

LOAD SHEDDING MODE

The system switches off unused functions, depending on the battery charge level.

While the vehicle is in motion, some functions, such as air conditioning or rear window heating, may be temporarily switched off.

They return to their normal state automatically, provided the battery charge level allows it.
