Parking assistance

~2min read

The system consists of four distance sensors fitted in the rear bumper.

Pomoc przy parkowaniu

The system detects obstacles (people, vehicles, trees, barriers, etc.) behind the vehicle, but it cannot detect obstacles located directly below the bumper.

An object such as a post, a road-works marker or another similar item may be detected at the start of a manoeuvre, but may no longer be detected once the vehicle is very close to the obstacle.

The rear parking assistance system activates when reverse gear is engaged.

This is accompanied by an audible signal.

Pomoc przy parkowaniu

Distance information is provided in the following form:

  • an audible signal, which becomes faster the smaller the distance between the vehicle and the obstacle,
  • graphic information on the multifunction display * using bars that approach the vehicle symbol.

When the distance between the rear of the vehicle and the obstacle falls below thirty centimetres, the intermittent signal changes to a continuous signal and the "Danger" symbol appears on the multifunction display.

The rear parking assistance system switches off when reverse gear is disengaged.

The parking assistance system does not, under any circumstances, relieve the driver of the duty to exercise care and responsibility.

Switching the rear parking assistance off / on

The function is switched off or on via the vehicle configuration menu.

The function status is stored when the ignition is switched off.

For more information on how to access the parking assistance menu, refer to the section on configuring vehicle equipment. The function switches off automatically when a trailer or a bicycle carrier is fitted (vehicle equipped with a towbar or a bicycle carrier recommended by PEUGEOT).

Operating fault

If the system malfunctions, when reverse gear is engaged this warning light illuminates on the instrument panel and/or a message appears on the multifunction display, accompanied by a short audible signal.

Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualified workshop.

In bad weather or in winter, make sure the sensors are not covered with mud, ice or snow. When reverse gear is engaged, a long audible signal indicates that the sensors may be dirty.

When the vehicle speed does not exceed 10 km/h, certain noise sources (motorcycle, lorry, pneumatic hammer...) may trigger the parking assistance audible signals.
