The system helps reduce fuel consumption by recommending an upshift in vehicles fitted with a manual gearbox.

Operation

The system only operates when driving economically.

Depending on driving style and vehicle equipment, the system may recommend a change of one or several gears.

The recommendation can be followed without engaging intermediate gears.

The gear recommendation is not mandatory.

Road layout, road conditions and safety are the main factors in choosing a gear. The driver decides whether to follow the system's advice.

This function cannot be switched off.

Example:

  • Third gear is engaged.

  • Press the accelerator pedal gently.

  • The system may suggest engaging a higher gear.

The recommendation appears as an arrow on the instrument panel display.

When driving requires increased engine performance (for example, firmly pressing the accelerator pedal to overtake...), the system will not recommend a gear change.

The system never recommends:

  • engaging first gear,
  • engaging reverse gear,
  • downshifting.
