BATTERY (LOCATED IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT)

Disconnecting / reconnecting the cables

   Lift the locking tab A.

   Position the open clamp of the cable on the battery + terminal.

   Press until the correct-positioning indicator B switches over.

   Lock the clamp by lowering the locking tab while keeping the clamp pressed.

Do not force the tab. If the clamp is incorrectly positioned, locking is not possible.

Repeat the procedure.

To recharge the battery with a battery charger:

• disconnect the battery,
• follow the operating instructions provided by the charger manufacturer,
• reconnect starting with the (-) terminal,
• check that the terminals and cable clamps are clean. If they are covered in sulphate (white or greenish deposit), remove them and clean them.

To start from another battery:

• connect the red cable to the (+) terminals of both batteries,
• connect one end of the green or black cable to the (-) terminal of the auxiliary battery,
• connect the other end of the green or black cable to a ground point on the vehicle with the flat battery, as far away from the battery as possible,
• operate the starter and let the engine run,
• wait for the engine to return to idle, then disconnect the cables.

If the vehicle will be stored for more than one month, it is advisable to disconnect the battery.
