ECU REPLACEMENT
A) On these ECUs, the full-load position of the load lever must be learned (this value is required to replace and adjust the load lever position sensor).
Learning procedure:
Enter code G31* on the XR25 tester keypad (engine speed zero)
Press the accelerator pedal when the display flashes "PF".
The display then shows "good", "End", then "6/7.dlE" when the procedure has been completed correctly.
The right-hand bar graph 12 must be off.Switch off the ignition.
B) Lucas digital DPC injection ECUs are supplied preconfigured as "with air conditioning".
If the vehicle is not fitted with air conditioning, use command G50*4* on the XR25 tester to program "without AC".
Lucas digital DPC injection ECUs are supplied preconfigured as "with power steering" (with power steering electric pump unit).
If the vehicle is not fitted with a power steering electric pump unit (vehicle without air conditioning), use command G50*9* on the XR25 tester to program "without PS".
Vehicles fitted with power steering but without air conditioning must therefore be configured as "without PS".
LOAD LEVER POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT
The load lever position sensor can only be replaced in the aftermarket if the full-load position was learned by the ECU before the sensor failed.
Load lever position sensor replacement and adjustment procedure:
Fit the new sensor without tightening the fixing screws.
Connect the sensor and use the XR25 tester (S8 code D34).
Activate command G32* on the XR25 tester, hold the accelerator pedal fully depressed (do not act directly on the load lever) and turn the sensor until the XR25 display shows a value other than H.L (out of limits). Refine the adjustment by turning the sensor until 0 is shown on the display.
Tighten the sensor screws in this position, then press the * key to complete the adjustment procedure.
