Towing (breakdown recovery)

The steering wheel must not be locked; the ignition key must be in the "M" (ignition) position so that the signal lamps (stop lamps, turn signals) work.
At night, the vehicle must be lit. In addition, it is essential to comply with the towing conditions defined by the legislation in force in each country and not to exceed your vehicle's towable weight. Contact your RENAULT Representative.

Use only the front 1 or rear 2 towing eyes (never the transmission tubes or the battery protection bar 3). These towing eyes may only be used for "in-line" towing; under no circumstances must they be used to lift the vehicle directly or indirectly.
The direction selector must be in position N (see the "Driving the vehicle" section).
RENAULT recommends the use of a rigid towing bar. If a rope or cable is used (where permitted by law), the towed vehicle must be fitted with working brakes.- Do not tow a vehicle whose roadworthiness is impaired.
- It is essential to avoid jerky acceleration and braking, which could damage the vehicle.
- In all cases, it is advised not to exceed 25 km/h.
