PASSIVE SAFETY EQUIPMENT

The MEGANE II benefits from the equipment found on the LAGUNA II and VEL SATIS, namely:
  • Side thorax airbag on front seat.
  • Double pretensioner on front seat for type BMXX.
  • Driver seat position sensor for adaptive airbag.
  • Rear centre three-point seat belt.
  • Front and rear Isofix anchorages.

INNOVATION:

  • Passenger airbag deactivation switch.
  • "Anti-submarining" airbag in the seat cushion, in addition to a seat belt pretensioner on front seat for MEGANE II type CMXX.

This airbag is referred to as follows in this document:

DRIVER SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG.

The ACU 4 Vdiag 04 control unit uses the same firing line to control either this seat cushion airbag (anti-submarining) or the driver seat lap belt pretensioner. In version B, the configuration is: driver seat lap belt pretensioner.

In version C, the configuration is: driver seat cushion airbag.

These two components can never be fitted on the same vehicle, as they use the same firing line.
